Tour One
Central Perth Culture and Living Study Tour
Join us as we explore the future of the city through the lens of culture and discover new ways of living in the capital city.
Starting from Council House, a State Heritage listed building, we will journey along Barrack Street up to the former Liberty Theatre located on Barrack Street. Taking the steps up into one of the many forgotten cultural spaces peppered throughout Central Perth. Here, we will have time to explore and hear from the owner of his vision for bringing this building and others along Barrack Street back to life. A life that embraces culture and the heritage fabric of our capital city.
We will then journey along Hay Street Mall, taking time to look up and see the amazing upper-level heritage facades that speak volumes to the potential of Hay Street Mall. Continuing our journey, we will travel along city laneways seeing how they are being activated, arriving at our destination of Switch Apartments located at the corner of Queen and Wellington Streets. Here we will have an opportunity to see inside a great example of innovative city living that is Co-Living/ student housing. A place where you are part of a community with many and varied shared facilities.

Tour Two
Yagan Square Study Tour
Join us on a guided walking tour of one of Perth’s newest and most iconic landmarks, Yagan Square. Delivered by DevelopmentWA on behalf of the State Government, Yagan Square has undergone significant transformation to reshape a once overlooked space and breathe new life into the city’s urban landscape.
Located between the arms of the historic Horseshoe Bridge and adjoining the new Edith Cowan University, Yagan Square is the eastern edge of what is arguably Australia’s most significant CBD development project, Perth City Link. Once coined “a failing destination”, a major revitalisation strategy, which included redeveloping parts of the precinct and reconfiguring the central Market Hall space, has seen Yagan Square become a vibrant and hugely popular destination for people of all ages to meet, connect, discover and celebrate Western Australia’s unique heritage, history and cultural offerings.
Working with Traditional Owners to place Aboriginal culture in the heart of our city, each of the square’s elements have been designed to reference the history of the site. Underpinned by a $1M activation strategy, a program of frequent events draws in the crowds, offering further support to Yagan Square’s tenants including The Shoe, Hiss & Smoke, Gangnam, Street Eats Eatery and ‘Stories' — a 4,000sqm innovative multifunctional hospitality and event space catering to a capacity of 2,500+ over five levels with three restaurants, nine bars, a speakeasy and rooftop bar, private dining space and the city’s biggest beer garden.

Tour Three
Subi East: Subiaco Oval Revitalisation Study Tour
Join us on a guided walking tour of the revitalised Subiaco Oval, WA’s historic home of football and the first stage of DevelopmentWA’s $227 million Subi East redevelopment.
With Subiaco Oval itself now retained and returned to the community, the demolition of Subiaco Oval Stadium provided a once-in-a lifetime opportunity to reimagine the concept of the inner-city village, with design of the public realm placing people and environment first.
Formerly accessible only to professional sporting teams, high-profile musical artists and paying patrons, the area now offers an exemplary community precinct featuring outstanding public amenity and infrastructure, together with experiential learning activities that honour and tell the story of the site’s rich heritage and cultural legacy.
With its 300-seat Pavilion, original heritage gates, active space including football themed parkour, social gathering hubs, reinterpreted Sandover Medal walk, outdoor football museum, Noongar Six Seasons Bidi and much more, Subiaco Oval forms a 4.1ha living heart to The Oval neighbourhood, the first of three Subi East neighbourhoods, and delivering 1000 dwellings within several apartment sites of between 11 and 30 storeys.
