NextGen Planner Summit 2025 | Fostering Skills and Provoking Ideas

PIA QYP’s NextGen Planner Summit is the first event of its kind in Queensland in many years.

The QYP Summit is an opportunity to bring young and emerging planners from across the State together, to learn, network, and share their unique experiences and knowledge. Attendees will benefit from a one-of-a-kind opportunity to develop both soft and technical skills, as well as partake in discussions around the big ides in planning.

Do you want to be part of the Summit program?

We are seeking Expressions of Interest for Speakers to present at the NextGen Planner Summit on 20 February 2025.

The NextGen Planner Summit: Fostering Skills and Provoking Ideas aims to highlight and showcase the key skills and topics which matter most to emerging planners.

We are seeking presentation abstracts that align with this theme and the following 2 sub-themes:

• Fostering Skills - technical, soft skills and knowledge requirements of emerging planners. With a highly varied profession, nailing the basics can be difficult. This sub-theme looks to discuss:
  • The core skills which are critical and applicable to every planner
  • The adaptations or new skills required for YPs to respond to the ever-changing places we are responsible for creating.
    
• Provoking Ideas - the ideas, and issues which matters most to emerging planners. What are the key challenges and opportunities we will tackle in our careers?
